01. Measure each nail

Start with bare nails, a piece of clear tape, a fine pen and a ruler marked in millimetres.

1. Lay the tape across the widest part of your nail. Let it follow the natural curve without stretching it.
2. Mark the two side edges of the nail on the tape.
3. Lift the tape and place it flat on the ruler. Record the distance between the marks in millimetres.
4. Repeat for all ten nails and measure a second time to check your results.

02. Keep a record

Write down each hand separately, from thumb to little finger. Do not assume both hands have identical measurements.

• Left hand: thumb / index / middle / ring / little finger — in mm.
• Right hand: thumb / index / middle / ring / little finger — in mm.

03. Check your chosen set

Compare your measurements with the dimensions provided for the specific product, shape and length you want. Size labels and nail numbers are not universal between different nail styles.

A nail should sit comfortably from side to side without pressing into the skin or needing to be forced flat. If you are between sizes, or a product does not list its dimensions, confirm the fit with the store before ordering.
